Human Dog Sled Race, January 29, 2012

Get your teams together! Join us for SWSA's first annual Human Dogsled Race!

Human Dogsled Rules

Here are the basic rules for the Human Dogsled Race.
For clarification, please email Ken Barker at kennethsbarker@gmail.com.

The race will begin around 2 pm Sunday.
Six person teams- five pulling, one riding.
Riding person must be at least two hundred pounds or equivalent (example of equivalent: two riders over 100 pounds each).
The vehicle must be without wheels- it can have runners, skis or be smooth-bottomed, and it must be a “vehicle” in the sense that someone will ride “in” it. Example: the rider cannot be on skis or a snowboard.
The vehicle must be pulled, not pushed or carried- the vehicle must maintain contact with the snow at all times.
The race will be timed.
The team’s time will be determined when the front of the sled crosses the finish line, not the first puller.
Teams are encouraged to decorate and customize their “sleds”.
Prizes will be awarded for the top three finishers
There will be a People’s Choice award for the best sled.
The registration fee is $10 per team, and participants will pay for admission at the ticket booth.
Email ken Barker at above address to register or with questions.
